Haven Cottage B&B

We stayed at The Haven for one night in March 2023. The name describes it beautifully. Room eight, which is a delightful suite, cosy, comfortable and bright. With freestanding bath, a lovely balcony looking across to Loughrigg and just a stones throw from the centre of Ambleside, this is a perfect place to unwind. Amanda and Mark are incredible hosts who are warm and welcoming. Their breakfast is amazing too. As a vegan and vegetarian its wonderful to see such attention to detail. Thank you both, for a most enjoyable stay!

We stayed mid-week for a few days in January, a great time to go to the Lake District as it's very quiet. Parking is available with EV charging and the property offers a great location almost in the centre of Ambleside. Breakfast was provided each morning and was always fantastic quality and delicious, the hosts were very attentive, providing advice on hiking in the local area and showing us their great collection of maps and books in the lounge area (which had a well stocked honesty bar). The room was well appointed with daily fresh milk, coffee, hot chocolate etc. The room and whole accommodation was very clean and tidy. Walkability: Great location close to Ambleside Centre

What an absolute treasure of a place! Just on the edge of the town, Haven Cottage is a stylish, elegant and comfortable retreat. Decorated in a Scandi-chic style with an amazing attention to detail from the cosy candle-lit lounge with a roaring fire to our very smart room with its roll-top bath and huge walk-in shower, complete with lovely fluffy bathrobes. Our very charming hosts, Amanda and Mark, were super friendly and welcoming and made a fabulous breakfast too! Amanda is a nutritionist and all her ingredients were organic and local, including her delicious home-made bread and the local butter which we indulged in! This place is more like a very chic boutique hotel and I can highly recommend. We will definitely be back!
