Weve been staying at Lyndale for over 20 years through several previous owners and Alison, the current owner, is the perfect host every time we stay. We book out the whole B&B as we sometimes number 10 (as we did this weekend just gone) and we always make a bit of noise when we get back after a few drinks in Ambleside. Her cooked breakfast is excellent & the perfect start to a day walking on the fells. The bedrooms are currently being upgraded to a more modern look but they still retain their cosyness.

Thanks Alison. Lovely place. Rooms very clean and contemporary. Great location. Fairly close to town, walkable, but not too noisy. Within 10 mins walk of the main bus stop in Ambleside and bus stops within a couple of minutes. Very nice breakfast and service. Informative local knowledge and books at hand. Ambleside is a great base to explore the Lakes with a lot going on during the night and day. I hope to return.

Rooms: I was booked into a single room with separate private toilet. The room had tea and coffee facilities and TV. Free WiFi was available. Nearby activities: Ambleside is a very popular town in the centre of the lake district. Windermere, Grasmere, and Keswick are all close by. Great location for numerous activities from hill walking to watersports. Walkability: The town centre is just 10mins away on foot from the guest house.
