Superb cottage that ticked all the boxes. Beautifully furnished and perfectly located it was just like having a home from home. We didn't want for anything because it had it in spades. Ultra clean, extremely comfortable and perfectly located, by the last day I didn't want to come home. Obviously being so central we had access to all the amenities Ambleside has to offer. Loved the Royal Oak public house, which was less than five minutes from the front door. Typical Lakeland bar, large selection of beers, lagers and ales and comfortable atmosphere but there are many others. Windermere, Grasmere and thousands of walks to explore, possibilities are endless and all with the luxury of a return to Swiss Villas. On the final day we drove over the Honister Pass and enjoyed a walk around Buttermere Lake. Very ruggedly picturesque, quiet a flat stroll which isn't very far/long or taxing and has the beauty of going full circle back to the bar where we parked the car. The meals are fantastic, proper home cooking and massive. We had the pie, which I wish I had a years supply of and fish and chips that was longer than the plate. Overall the whole experience was 5 stars.
