When I did an MOT check on the car I discovered it had damage to some of the suspension and steering components. It also had only done 200 miles in the previous 8 months. I asked the sales manager to explain these anomalies but he couldn't so I decided not to purchase the car and asked for my deposit back. The sales manager was understanding and told me I would receive a refund in a couple of days.
A week passed and I hadn't received a refund so I chased again and was assured it was coming soon. Another week passed and I still did not have the refund. I contacted Toyota UK and a few days later the refund came.
I was disappointed on 2 fronts. The first that a car with a uncertain history was being offered through the approved Toyota network and the second, that I had to chase and chase, eventually contacting Toyota UK to get my deposit back. This was not what I had hoped and expected from a Toyota main dealer.
