Please note that we are not a Tax Agent and do not submit Tax Claims to HMRC
BUT
*A separate company part of the Claims Guys family called
Brooksdale Limited does submit Tax Claims using your info
And without your knowledge
They submitted a claim to HMRC not instructed by me and resulting in a letter from HMRC requesting more info on my Overpayment Relief Claim. Thought it a scam/fraudulent activity ? Not sure now what it was No answer of course HMRC
Ref this Claims Guy claim.
Please note that we are not a Tax Agent and do not submit Tax Claims to HMRC; therefore, if you have had a claim submitted, we believe that it is a separate company * which you are referring to.

In response to a long winded legalese response I have slightly edited my review :) My partner had received a p800 from HMRC stating she was due a tax refund and that a cheque was being sent to "PHILLIPSON HARDWICK ADVISORY" My partner rang these people up and was told they had been given the authority to claim tax refunds on her behalf and they are partners with "The Claims Guys" ??? After carefully filtering out the non essential b######t from the response to this review :)
I think what it said was that the Claims guys send out emails and texts with a click a link to claim "ppi"
What you are actually doing is signing a brand new contract with Phillipson Hardwick Advisory and allowing them to become your sole tax agent giving them the authority to claim back all tax and not just "ppi" at a rate of 48% I personally would not have signed any contract like this but my partner who has "adhd" did not realise this "probably the attention deficit" and thought she was still dealing with the claims guys !!
Where on the contract does it ask whether the person "electronically" signing "not" a formal paper document!! has any medical reason why they might not fully understand any or all of the contract and should seek financial advice first.
I told the agent at "Action fraud" all of the above and we both agreed it is very misleading.
The crime report has been sent to the police and I will re ring HMRC with the crime number and see how the cards fall.
Dont have any dealings with these kinds of companies it's easier and far less hassle to contact HMRC by phone and arrange it yourself.
