Wonderful cinema , took my niece a few times and it felt more like watching a movie with a bunch of friends. This cinema deserves support as cinemas like this really don't exist anymore its very unique , Alton would be poorer if it lost this place for sure.

The screen and sound were good and we enjoyed the film. Unfortunately the doors were locked when we arrived (we were 10 min late, assuming there would be adverts before the film). We knocked and were let in a little reluctantly, as the member of staff said he had already switched off the film because there was no one to watch it. Apparently in this cinema the films actually start at the time scheduled (with no adverts or trailers preceeding them) - something to bear in mind. It feels a little sad and run down over all, with threadbare carpets and some rubbish around. But we only paid 5 and the film experience was alright. A little more welcome and friendliness would have gone a long way.

This place feels full of potential, but it seems to have been allowed to degrade.

Film was good once a projectionist could be found. Such a shame this Alton landmark is in such a poor state of repair. Understand a buyer and lack of investment is not forthcoming.
