Husband had the worst cut he has ever had in a barbers. The staff were talking about some seriously morbid stuff and it was very off putting. He went back to his usual barbers who had to rectify the terrible cut.

A bit of a wait, usually a good sign. Not disappointed, good hair cut, pleasant staff.

Not the most professional establishment. The hairdresser didnt seem to know what she was doing, yet at the same time would disregard my suggestions and pointers of what to do. I wanted an asymmetrical haircut with one side significantly shorter than the other and I explained this to the hair dresser and explained the lengths and style that I wanted. The hairdresser proceeded to explain that she was far more qualified than me and knew far more about what I wanted than I did and then demonstrated that she did, in fact, not understand what I wanted. The initial cut she gave me was not satisfactory and only by arguing with her was I able to make it somewhat close to what I wanted. Whenever I asked for adjustments she would only make slight changes and only with repeated prodding would she make the changes that I wanted, with accompanying aspiration. She also kept asking her colleague what to do and they replied just do what the customer wants and she really should have listened to her colleagues advice. All of this is bad, however I am only posting this review because I had to pay an additional 3 restyling fee on top of the already pricy 17 price. This restyling fee was not mentioned to me prior to the haircut and honestly I do not feel like it applies as this haircut is not sufficiently different from my prior style. The only reasons why this is not a 1* is because I believe that this individual may be a new hire and does not represent the business and that I did not provide photographic examples of what I wanted. I was recommended this establishment by family so my experience may be an outlier, however you should definitely take this into account when deciding where to get a haircut in Alton. I will be providing images for comparison purposes so that you can decide whether this restyling fee was fair or not.
