Four of us visited this restaurant on Saturday, 8th April after a busy day at Alton Towers on and to celebrate my husbands birthday. Had booked a table for 7pm well in advance. Took a while to be taken to our table but we were 10 mins early so, fine. Placed our orders and after an hour were told there had been a mix up in the kitchen and could we state our orders again. Basically they had lost our order. Why did no one notice this before an hour had passed?! We were told 15 mins before this that our food would not be much longer. Our 9 year old was really hungry so it was great fun listening to him ask why the food was taking so long every 5 mins! The starters arrived 1 hour and 40 mins after we had arrived at the restaurant which is just not acceptable. Staff apologised but no discount off our bill or a free drink was offered which might have took the sting out of things a little at the time after putting such a dampner on our celebrations. Shame really as the food is spectacular so kudos to the chef/kitchen staff. I would rate the food 5 stars on its own. Times are tough staff wise but some basic management is all that is required here...this is a very small restaurant. I note from other reviews that this has happened before...shame the management don't feel the need to listen to customer feedback and improve...had they done so we would likely have had a much more postivie experience and review to share. Food & drinks: Food fab, service not good enough.
