Be prepared to park away from the cottage, which is at a premium in Alston town centre unless you are very lucky.
The beds and linen were comfortable and clean, the bathrooms could have done with a deeper clean and the sofas (albeit very comfortable) look a little worse for wear.
We did enjoy our time in Alston and spent quite a time in the cottage due to the weather - we didn't go stir crazy.
