We have stayed here two Januarys in a row with two little ones and a dog and it wont be the last time. Absolutely perfect break. The owners are lovely and friendly, the cottage is perfect and the hot tub and log fire are great extras. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout and the cottage was very clean and cosy. Absolutely fantastic value too. There is SO MUCH to do in the area. Last time we did Isaacs tea trail and Nenthead mines and took in more of the local area. This year we visited Hadrians wall, Birdoswald fort, Brougham castle and the mines again (amethyst hunting in the snow was a big hit with the kids!) and there is so much more for us to do next time. They loved playing with the owners very sweet grandkids who remembered them from last time!
