Alnwick Post Office

Checked the time the post office was open until - Saturday 5pm the site said. Went to Alnwick to specifically post something, as they have closed all the local post offices. Arrived at 4pm to find it closed with a paper hand written sign saying it had closed at 3pm. How unprofessional and shoddy.

Miserable and rude staff who overcharge on postage, putting things through first class when you ask for second. They dont listen and then bark at you like youre supposed to read their minds for what they want you to do. They were most upset today when I disturbed their chat, despite waiting patiently for them to finish without interrupting.

Had to go in to there one Sunday as .my own post office was being refurbished. I arrived at 11.35 and on the Post Office website it said open to 12 noon.. this woman said we close at 11.30 . So i pointed out it said open till 12 on the website - her reply was oh that was when Covid was in place. asked her if there was any other post offices in Alnwick and she snapped i dont know their hours. I did find a lovely post office on wagon road - who is open till Six on a Sunday . And she couldnt have been nicer !!

The staff at Alnwick post office are the most surly bunch I have ever encountered. Very abrasive, unfriendly & rude. When you walk in it is unclear where you are supposed to wait. I waited in one queue only to be told to wait in another at the back of the store. Then they started to call customer who were behind me in the queue. Some serious improvements needed.
