My visit to the minor injuries unit of the Infirmary is a pleasure to recount! I dropped in with a problem I was experiencing with my lower eyelid. The staff member at the reception desk was pleasant and very welcoming. My wait to be seen was just under one hour, which I found to be amazing in these days of a stretched health service. The nurse who attended to me was quite exceptional, from her caring, friendly manner, through to her examining of my eye and removal of an ingrowing eyelash, which was the cause of my eye irritation. She explained everything to me regarding the antibiotic cream I was prescribed, and also how to follow up if things didnt improve inside of a few days. This is truly our wonderful NHS at its best, and I felt privileged today to be a part of their caring, efficient service. Thank you.

Whilst on holiday my wife tripped and fell. We went to Alnwick Infermary minor injuries unit where they diagnosed a broken finger. The whole process was dealt with promptly; efficiently and in a friendly manner. We would like to express our thanks for the first class treatment and service.

Went to X-Ray dept. No mask used by radiographer yet no fresh air in room. Was told not many people are ill who come to the X-Ray dept!!!! How odd for a hospital and how unprofessional considering the amount of frail elderly on the ward there.
