I have whittled down the number of auction houses at which I bid, as some are ridiculously expensive for shipping costs. Alnwick auctions charge fairly and pack well. Very happy with their service.

I would just like to mention the fantastic service I received from Alnwick Auctions. My items were packed and posted the same day that my payment was received and I got them next day delivery! They were well packaged and clearly labelled. Many many thanks, and I will certainly be buying from you again! Well done.

I won a scarce bayonet with scabbard, paid the invoice immediately, which included P&P. I have dealt with auction houses all over the country for years, and sometimes their lack of care for your lots after you have paid is appalling. Sent a message to Alnwick asking for my item to have adequate protection for shipping. The bayonet arrives in a plastic tube which is too short, the bottom of the scabbard proud of the tube with the tiniest piece of bubble wrap around it, the socket also proud again a tiny piece of bubble wrap. The bayonet is 170 years old, but they have their money, so could not care less. Sent email with photographic evidence didn't even receive a reply. Very poor service and unfortunately not an isolated case.
