Woodlands

We've just come home from a fab 7 nights at Woodlands in Allonby and before we left we were already planning to head back. Helen kindly responded to a post I made in a local online group as we were struggling to find accommodation for my Mum's 70th birthday, specific dates due to work holidays and with 8 of us, not many places accept such a big party. We know Allonby village well as we have family who live there, Woodlands is ideally situated for the sunset run out to the beach for photos, or to sit and wait for the Northern Lights (sadly only viewable our first night and we all slept through them) or just a gentle wander along the beach or path or to the pub for a meal/ice cream. The house itself is gorgeous with it's charm and in-keeping decor. My nephews think it's the best holiday house ever and the little room at the top of the first set of stairs was much in demand by us all- for people/sunset watching and as a reading nook- very cosy. We had lots of fun while at the house and saw Helen and her partner Bill a few times, they couldn't do enough to help us- even bringing batteries when something wasn't working. Helen left cakes for our arrival and even brought my Mum a bottle of wine for her big birthday- such a lovely gesture. We're leaving Allonby with happy hearts and two new friends.
