Crookhurst Self Catering House and Cottage

We stayed in the farm hands cottage for 6 nights and thoroughly loved it! The cottage is clean, comfy and perfect for two people and a dog! Took a few days to get the temperature right! The kitchen is very new and well laid out with all the utensils and kitchenware required. Negatives are the oven likes to cremate bread in all forms and a lack of baking trays meant creativity with the muffin trays however more than enough to cater for a week and the trusty microwave never failed us! The living room/diner is spacious and nicely laid out also the tv has freeview box and is a decent size for the room. There is a wood burner unsure if its actual set up as a burner but it would get the room like a sauna although gives a lovely focal point and sets the room off. Given its an old building the heights of ceilings and doors are at interesting heights , particularly in the bathroom where standing brushing your teeth with you head tilted is entertaining! Water flow is fabulous and the soft water tops it off! The bedroom is very spacious with a double and a single in plus floor space still to move around, the quilt was quite thick for us for a fairly warm week but the beds are lovely and comfy! The location is also an added bonus being a stones throw from the sea front of Allonby - our dog has been truly spoilt for the last six days! Perfectly positioned for a small drive into the heart of the lakes for walks during the day and a spot of shopping. Will defiantly be staying again in the future, Thanks for your hospitality!
