Quite a nice location... Apart from that... Abrupt disinterested bar staff. Food was just short of passable, ploughman's came with some weird hybrid salad coleslaw thing with pickled onions and leaves in it, looked like something the only fella in the home economics class of 1984 would knock up. Menu prices are subject to change apparently at the whim of the bar staff. Gave this place a try because I used to go there 35 years ago, won't be going back. And if management want to reply to this review ...you'd be better off using the time to speak to your barstaff and make sure people want to return.

I could not be more disappointed with the breakfast here. Quite frankly it was shocking. The cost was 18 yes, 18 and for that you had a very small basket of toast (between a table of people) and one egg and one piece of smoked haddock, it not only looked horrendous it was just a small piece of fish with an egg for 18! We asked for the jams which werent put on the table, only to be given a selection of jars that had been open for god knows how long and shared amongst other tables. It was taken straight off a families table and straight onto oursI dont think I ever had shared food items before COVID, let alone afterwards. The other meals were also priced at 18 and they were not highly rated. All the plates were luke warm and there were only 3 tables at the time so I struggle to blame it being busy. The price was to include a hot drink also, but two of us had to share a filter coffee. One table had left after seeing the price and we honestly wish we had too. Ive never left a 1 star review but I cannot give this anything other than that. It is such a shame as all of us have been visitors to this beautifully situated pub but never for food, so were excited to try it. Needless to say we would never eat breakfast there again unless there were massive changes.
