The grounds are very well cared for and it's obvious to see the horses were well looked after. The lesson we had was for 3 children and each child had a young rider allocated to them with the teacher leading the whole lesson. I can see that the teacher was good with the kids, taking them at their pace. My only niggle was that the lesson ended early. I think from talking around, that this isn't a normal thing for this place but only having had one trial lesson, I couldn't say for certain so this is why I've put 4 stars and not 5. However the kids did love their lesson and I loved watching it. We are considering one other riding place, if we choose Apples equestrian then I'll review this review after a couple of sessions.

I started riding under Rachel's wing over 20 years ago. Walking through the front gates for the first time I found kindness, warmth and encouragement. I knew instinctively that I had found somewhere really special and that I would want to ride here forever. Over the years, the time I spend here has become so much more than learning to ride. Apples Equestrian is my favourite place to laugh, my most trusted shoulder to cry on when facing challenges and my sigh of relief at the end of a busy working day. I always leave with my head held higher, feeling happier and a little bit more like me. Thank you Rachel.

Apples equestrian is a small equine farm and theraputic riding experience. Rachel made me feel comefortable from the start. I went because I don't have the best of health so I wanted an activity that would be theraputic. The grooming is very centering and calming. the way Rachel teaches helps you relax and breathe and gives you space to be present. I've learned a lot about the horses too and it's wonderful simply to sit at the farm and enjoy as they have many other animals and a while group of friendly dogs not to mention the beautiful scenery. Very lucky to have this so close to the city and the price is very reasonable. Her booking times are flexible. And they have turned out to be ace for my nice who has struggled with stress resulting from covid and school. Highly recommend these folks. Even in my first lesson I could feel my muscles relax and some pain just ease away!

I recently took my daughter Esther to Apples Equestrian where we met the lovely and friendly owner Rachel and met all the wonderful animals - donkeys, pig, chickens, geese, cats and dogs. It's a magical place for children. Esther was helped to feel at ease during her ride on Tommy the pony and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Rachel's manner is confident, firm, reassuring and kindly with the children. We look forward to coming back for another lesson soon!
