Refused to give me my full prescription because I was a day late had to go to the doctors to get them to call and make them give me my full prescription. Got spoken down to like I was a child then when it came to giving me my prescription they made me wait till everyone else was seen to, even people that came in after me. Almost had a episode with my mental health because of how I was treated

A 90 year old gentleman living alone (and housebound) was given a prescription by his Doctor on Thursday, given directly to the pharmacy and was expected to be dispensed and delivered (as usually happens) the same day. On this occasion, no medicine was received, no phone call to say it couldn't be delivered as the usual service would have been. This person waited over the long weekend for his medicine, a total of 5 extra days after the Doctor's visit. After making a 14 mile trip to the pharmacy the following Tuesday, I complained about the lack of service and asked why a phone call couldn't have been made? The Pharmacist said it wasn't possible to do that as she would have to make 'thousands of phone calls' if this service was possible. It appears that it is perfectly acceptable for this Pharmacy to just abandon its usual service to elderly persons, (without notice) who need the medicine, without any thought or conscience on their part. What is wrong with people today. I suspect the long weekend was looming.
