I'm giving this five stars for eccentricity. If you want an unusual experience, loosely reminiscent of Fawlty Towers, look no further. It began with the messages in advance of our stay, and continued with the welcoming sign bearing my full name in the window (next to a St George's cross), the notice in the door instructing guests to wear facemasks, the proprietor's slightly edgy remark as we were checking in about how very much the household celebrates Christmas, the delightfully awkward manner in which breakfast was delivered into our room the next morning, and the surprise of pumping music that seemed to attend a dance class in the room directly below us while we were attempting an afternoon nap.
