Disgusting service they have lost a costumer and wont shop at this store anymore! Member of staff at the till self check out needs a curse in costumer service! STAY AWAY!

Disgusted that only a couple of tills are ever open and a huge bank of self checkouts akin to Asda et al have appeared. Card only, ready for the CBDC hell we are headed towards. The clientele here are generally retired or elderly, and with loneliness and isolation at an all time high, the human contact they get during their trip to the shops is vital and now in jeopardy. This is not just food, this is do it yourself food. This is not the M&S I grew up with. No longer worth the premium, just another supermarket but with tastier food.

In town for work. Went out for a quick bite, on my way back to the hotel saw this was open. Popped in thinking I'll grab myself something for breakfast, maybe some dessert and an alcohol free beer if they one that takes my fancy (to clarify, not some problems drunk rolling in right before closing time). Just found an individual trifle and rather than making an announcement or politely telling people as there weren't many customers; the staff started turning off lights around me. I thought, "well that's a bit rude". Started looking for the till when a member of staff said "bro! You need to get to the till before they stop working ". No thanks I'd rather be hungry. Rude.
