Chives Caterers

When my husband and I lost our wedding caterer after covid forced us to rearrange, we were incredibly stressed out and felt so let down. Chives was one of the recommended caterers from our venue, so we decided to contact them to see whether they would be able to feed us on our big day. Within a day of contacting them, we had a long and detailed message from Debbie which touched on everything we had raised with them, made suggestions and offered the chance to talk further regarding our plans. This was such a stark contrast to our previous caterer, and made us immediately feel like their top priority. Debbie and Graham are a married couple who have been in the business for a long time what they dont know about weddings and food isnt worth knowing! They made incredible food suggestions and we ended up with a completely different menu to that which we had originally planned. We were invited round for a taster menu which was so delicious, and they had excellent plans for our vegan friends and those with allergies. We felt so relaxed knowing that everyone would be catered to at a very high standard. The best thing about Debbie and Graham, however, is that throughout the whole process we felt as though we had a friend. Planning a 2020 wedding was beyond stressful and our plans changed so many times before we were able to have a small wedding in September. Debbie was so kind and supportive, keeping in regular contact and ensuring we were okay. Knowing they were going through something similar with their son meant that we knew they were keeping up to date with all the latest regulations, but also that they knew how emotional we felt every time we faced a knock-back. Debbie and Graham helped us to find a new venue when everything went wrong, helped to find us amazing deals on everything and were there to set up the day before. On the wedding day itself nothing was too much trouble and there was a never ending supply of food, which was super useful when my mother in law decided at the last minute that she was going to be vegetarian for the day. Everyone adored their food and were still asked about our canapes by friends. I would highly recommend Chives for any event that you need catered. They are professional and so talented, but they also give back to the local community and care so deeply about what they do. We are so excited to have our full celebration next year for so many reasons, but Im so excited to eat more of Grahams pate again and to see their lovely, smiling faces again. Thank you just isnt enough.

Conscious that we were booking in uncertain times and using a venue where we had lots of flexibility, we were looking for a Caterer with a wealth of reassuring experience, and plenty of capacity to adapt to our wishes. We absolutely got that; from our first meeting with Debbie and Graham, the success of our day felt completely central to their work. We loved their food; the sharing platters worked really well on the tables, the combinations and local ingredients made it really special. Moreover, the way that it was delivered was really remarkable. Alongside stepping in to organise lots of other elements of the day, Chives ran such a smooth operation and made special efforts to check in with us as a couple whilst handling whatever surprises the day had in store! We really appreciated that, and Debbie was always a few steps ahead. The day was a sparkling success due to her dedication.

They catered for a recent wedding - the food was delicious, and very nicely presented. Their staff were lovely too.

On the day we met Debbie and Graham the Covid wedding restrictions had just been tightened. So we found out we could only have 15 people at the wedding instead of 30. Instead of leaving us to cancel and cry! We opened a bottle of wine and together we worked something out. It was the warmest and nicest first meeting I have ever had. From helping us with table plans, to perfecting menus. Nothing was too much trouble and Debbie was always available to help. Which I needed as we only had 5 weeks to sort it all out! The food was amazing. And our vegetarian friends were so excited to join in with the canaps as they never usually can. Thanks again for eveything. Debbie you really felt like part of the family on the day, everyone said how lovely you were. Looking forward to seeing you again for your pop up brunch at Alberrys at the end of October. Itll feel like were doing the day again... a bit!. Xxxx
