Friendly place. Great for growing vegetables. Fantastic cake in Sunday mornings. It takes about 10 hours a week to look after a plot.

This is a privately run allotment association, run by a committee of members. The bylaws ensure that those with plots tend to them, and this is enforced, though the committee is friendly and willing to grand exceptions if you are unfortunate enough to be incapacitated. Allotment holders are all friendly, ranging from casual to near professional and competitive. However, everyone is generally willing to share tips, and regular coffee mornings and events are held by volunteers raising money for charity. There is also a small shop stocking items for this and neighbouring allotments, and now accepts card payments for purchases. All in all, this is an excellent place if you want a place to grow fruit, vegetables or flowers. For me, as someone who wanted a place to grow fresh increments for the cooking I enjoy, it's given me a lot of good experience, excellent flavours, and great exercise. There is a waiting list, but my advice would be to get on it if you're interested!
