One of the best blocks in the Barbican for the views of St Pauls and, uniquely, direct garden access from the lifts. Though I live here, so Im biased.

Thomas More House is one of residential buildings of Barbican estate - a terrace block that stretches from Aldersgate St, west to east. The entrances to the block are on both a ground level and a podium level. It has seven floors above podium level. There are two flats at each level. The top has penthouse flats. Living room faces south and bedroom faces north in a one-bedroom penthouse flat. Views are magnificent, especially the one to St. Paul Cathedral on the south. A kitchen is part of open plan, but is in a separate room with a window on top, so does not spoil a living room. Every flat has a sewage pipe in a kitchen where some kind of rubbish can be thrown (I disliked this and never used it). Good size bathrooms. Excellent air circulation. There was no dishwasher when I lived there though. Underfloor and behind wall heating is good and convenient. But with northern wind north situated bedroom are cold due to large windows. There are spacious balconies on both sides. Rubbish collection several times a week (excellent service). Nearest shops and gym are not far - near Barbican station. Nearest NHS is Neaman Practice across the road, but I did not find it very good. The adjacent garden, that is to the north of the block, is locked; all residents have keys. In spite of being in the centre of the City the place is tranquil and peaceful. The architecture is a bit gloomy, but overall living experience is quite good. Neighbourhood is unique - diverse professionals from hairdressers to musicians (not just financial ones), families and singles. You feel priviledged living there.
