Ive stayed at The Bell twice for work trips after finding it on a Telegraph list of places to stay in the area. What a fantastic place. Its a lovely, high quality, traditional pub in a great location. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely top quality (I had dinners and breakfasts) - a varied, interesting menu clearly put together by a very competent chef. The rooms are immaculate, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. If I had to find faults, Id say it would be good if breakfast service started at 7am rather than 7:30am to make it easier to get away quickly in the morning, but I imagine most people are staying for leisure rather than business so probably arent affected by this. The prices are a little high, but I suppose you get what you pay for. Overall a fantastic place - would definitely recommend

Lovely atmosphere and dog friendly. However, too long to wait to be served despite three staff members acknowledging us. Low reviews to include the waiting time and the Guinness. Guinness was too cold, tasted watered down. Barman poured it half right but didn't allow enough time for it to settle before pouring again. Drink 3/4 quarters before giving it back. Also a slight fizz/sour taste, barrel needs replacing. Partner very much enjoyed a new wine.

Great food, higher quality than average pub food. Great selection of options including gluten free options and amazingly they allow dogs in the pub and have a dog food menu. We will be returning for sure! The pie was gluten free and the other plate is a vegan one. Food & drinks: Vegetarian, gluten free options.
