I recently went down to view this home and was taken around by Karen. The staff are very friendly and seem to interact very well with the residents. I was impressed with how clean things are kept and also by how the residents interact with each other giving them a comfortable place to be. I was also shown the sensory room that is being put in place currently which seems a great thing for people staying there to keep them engaged. I was surprised reading a recent review saying Iris was unhelpful as I have spoken to her whilst enquiring about the home and she was very willing to help with any questions I had.

My mother was admitted to this care home and isolated due to Covid restrictions and I was unable to get an answer from any member of staff as to if she was dead or alive. After many calls and emails, no one would tell me. After a week of no news the only way I found out how my mother was, was when she was sent back to hospital as the care home could not cope. I sent the care home an official complaint and to this date have never received a response. This is not acceptable and I would not recommend this care home.

I've just been shown around this care home by a 'lady' called Iris. All I can say is do not send your relatives here! She was not a very nice person at all and I wouldn't send my Mum here just based on her attitude let alone anything else. She was so impersonal, unfriendly and curt, I could tell she just wanted the meeting over and done with. The place is unclean, I even spotted urine on the floor in a couple of public areas and dirty towels strewn about.. Yuck! Iris was obviously just going through the motions and probably couldn't care less about the residents nor their relatives! Everything seems to be about money these days. I gave this place one star only because you can't rate zero! It's a shame as Springfield is near where we live but I would have sleepless nights if my mum stayed there! Keep your loved ones away from this place!

I wish I could give 0 stars. My Mum will have been in Springfield for a week tomorrow. A vital time to keep in touch with her as shes scared and does not know her surroundings. Shes in isolation for 10 days. She has stage 5 kidney failure, Dementia, COPD and Queens hospital diagnosed her COVID positive. Spoke to her Tuesday to Friday. Then nothing. My Mum does not go an hour without talking to me or my brother. 3 days with no call. Phone off. Called Springfield everyday for those 3 days. Was told someone would call me back. NOTHING. I have resulted in dialling 999 to tell the Police that Im worried about her safety and well being. Being bank holiday I have called occupational therapists at Queens and Safeguarding at Havering Council. No answer there. Hence I called 999. I called the home back to tell them that I have called the Police and that if I didnt hear back from them within the hour I would turn up on their doorstep. I cant go in because I have COVID too. I received a call back. They asked me to call my mums phone. HOORAY! After 3 days its back on. Theyve given her the phone back. Theyve told me shes not eating now. When I spoke to her she sounds awful. Doesnt have the energy to talk. Roll on Friday when I can go in there and see what is what with this place. I would rather have a stay in Bates Motel than spend half a day in this hell hole. Watch this space. I will be updating.
