Absolutely dysmal. Year 7 due to my ADHD I was ISOLATED lunchtime and breaktime. I was kept in isolation from year 7 to year 11. The school had no care how this affected my mental health and how it SEVERELY affected my knowledge and capability to assess risk and risky adults when leaving school. I was on report from year 7 to year 11 for whatever reason they could think of and if I got a decent report that week I'd be able to bring a friend with me to sit in isolation for lunch and break...a friend...yh ok...when I wasn't able to make friends because of being in isolation and would get told off and be put detention for trying to make friends during lessons!! Last day of high school I had been promised the day out of isolation at lunch so I could spend the last lunch with my few friends I had made. Come the food and nutrition lesson before lunch, with it being my last I told me teaching assistant I was upset. Next thing I knew I was being told I can't spend my last lunch outside with my friends!! I defied the odds and stayed out that lunch. However at the cost of immediate suspension til the GCSES started and being told I'd not be able to attend prom. It took for my dad to call the school and threaten to report this behaviour from the teachers and teaching assistants and SEN manager to the school leaders for them to agree to allow me at the prom providing I was supervised by my mother and only until 7:30!!! School is of dismall hygiene last I knew, absolutely dismall mental health knowledge and locking people away to make it a easy "situation" dealt with is NOT the answer for students with special needs. The scholastica centre was completely misused in my day. Especially for keeping vulnerable kids locked up. Which ultimately makes them more vulnerable as they don't learn the social skills needed to be able to identify risk and risky adults
