Poplar Farm Restaurant and Caravan Park

Booked 4 nights away on a grass touring pitch for my family over the Easter break the pitch was water logged and soon as I drove on the grass our car and caravan started to sink whilst putting the awning up the Owner came over in a very irate manner telling us our car had to be put outside the gate was told they had 24hr security there wasnt any the owner told us they had had 40 days of rain that why we couldt park next to our caravan we was told if we got set there was a 100 charge to be pulled off (inside the gate there was a sign saying 50 tow off fee) when we was leaving I had to ask for my deposit back for the gate key we wasn't the only customers to be treated in this way I wouldn't recommend this site

Just spent 4 nights on this lovely well kept site. Spotless facilities. Steve and Doe are really helpful and friendly. We will be coming back

After a couple of months on the site we thought everything was going OK.. The people who run the site are very nice hard working people who keep the site immaculate we get on well with our neighbours but today all that as changed... When we first agreed to sign up for the contract for the season we asked if it was OK if our immediate family... Grown up kids would be able to use the van and we were told that it would not be a problem as long as we gave written consent.. Which we have done... I phoned the site tonight to let them know that my daughter in law and her partner and my granddaughter would be arriving at the site in a couple of hours purely out of courtesy to the people who run the site ... Only to be told that they would be charged 32 per night... Apparently I should have read the small print and not taken people at there word . Obviously I was very upset about this and said that they would not be paying... When they arrived our fob to open the barrier had been cancelled after a phone call and an agreement was made to pay the fee they have now been allowed on site... We will not be staying another season.. There is no reason for this extra payment? There are no facilities on the site other than the toilet and shower room..its a total rip off
