Stablewood Coastal Cottages

We booked 4 nights at Brown Owl Lodge at Budle Bay. But came home early due to the awful state of the accommodation. We got a phone call whilst we were driving up to the cottage to say that the central heating had broken down but they would provide logs for the log burner. It might have been useful if theyd thought to also provide sufficient kindling and firelighters too! We had to go out and buy our own but then we realised that there was a lot more wrong with the place than just the heating The patio door was broken and taped shut with gaffer tape; the loo seat was literally hanging off, the window in the lounge had a huge gap around it with the wind whistling in, the fridge didnt work properly, the furniture is long past its best and the whole place hadnt been properly cleaned for a long time - the table had remnants of old food stuck to it and the window blinds were disintegrating and leaving pieces all over the floor. We rang and left a message to report the broken loo seat when we arrived but we had no response at all! They did say someone would check up on us to see how we were coping without heating but no one called. Its sad because we used to come here years ago when the place was actually looked after but it seems to be totally neglected now and just left to drop to pieces.

Sent 4 nights in Bullfinch Cottage, was wonderful! Spacious, everything you could want and welcomed by staff on arrival with a really pleasant demeanour. 4 passes to pool/steam roofs, lovely pub not 50 yards and old school served and excellent breakfast. Recommended to us, we recommend it to you, as Angie says, Ill be back!

Couldn't have been happier they cottage was a lot bigger than the photos on website thr welcome box for humans and one for our Dog which we have never had before he was over the moon as we were with ours really nice touch and we had a lovely two night stay.

Absolutely loved staying here, a little gem of a place, 10 minute drive from Bamburgh. The cottage had every we needed and more,the welcome pack was a very nice touch. Will definitely stay here again.
