Torkington House was a godsend for me and my sister. They really helped us out a lot with our father, who was at their day care option they have or had. All the staff there were amazing, and helped me and sister out with any issues that we had, always kept us informed of dad, if he was ever acting up etc etc. They always had solutions, which was incredibly reassuring for us. They are a wonderful, warm, care home with an amazing team. Margaret, you must be proud of them!

What an absolutely wonderful place. I was going to write care home, it truly is a home where EVERYONE CARES, you can feel it as you walk in. Margaret and her entire team are amazing, the home is full of love, compassion and most definitely person centred care and a fun atmosphere. I had the pleasure of joining some residents for lunch. (4 courses of nutritional, tasty and varied plates of food. Top Chef and kitchen. ) One of whom had been there for 16 years and was recalling how he came to stay and a birthday the day before mine in early October. He had organised a singer. He was even more happier with this one than the one who cancelled he told me last week. Keep on doing what your doing Torkington House. Keep safe and well and I hope that Covid stays away from your incredible home. Thats what is is a lovely big family home Sue - Access 21

Had the most unpleasant experience today at Torkington House. Had rang up to arrange a visit on Monday 21st June. The lady on the telephone asked for my name and number. The visit was booked for today 5 days later. I was told by Margaret- the extremely rude and unprofessional manager that I was not on the "designated " list of 5 chosen ppl to visit???- clearly a made up rule of Margaret's own. This was after being settled in the garden with the resident I was visiting. I was then told I was very rude as Margaret started yelling at me whilst I was already speaking on my phone!! She called me by the wrong name and said if I was a domicillary carer I should know better!!!??? - I am not a domicillary carer but a corporate receptionist!!. Margaret is a very evil and angry individual who is clearly not fit to be a manager. I was then told to leave, which upset the lady I was visiting immensely. She suffers with dementia and was very upset and distressed at my having to leave so abruptly. When I asked why they had not told me these new unheard of rules when I rang to book the visit 5 days earlier, Margaret just asked who I spoke to- which is irrelevant as at the end of the day I was told the wrong information by the home and had a completely wasted trip and instead of an apology was shouted at and told to leave the home. The experience today has left me feeling very angry and astounded that this can happen. I hope you are proud of yourself Margaret for your vile behaviour in front of your staff and residents. Today you succeeded in ruining what should have been a lovely reunion between friends after being separated during the pandemic. You have caused upset and suffering for no reason. Shame on you.
