The task was to cut down a 20ft x 6ft x 4ft box hedge to 18. The price quoted was 150. The mistake was to pay in cash before the job was finished. After half an hour Barry left, having cut down the hedge, but not come to me to ask if I was happy with the result, which I was not. The cut top was ragged and uneven, the spread at the base had not been cut at all and a lot of debris remained. Messages left requesting him to return and tidy up the sides remain unanswered after 7 days. 150 cash for half an hours work would seem exorbitant.
