I have to say Ive been to the wentbridge hotel and the blue smoke several times, and Ive always had a brilliant experience. But I have to say going to the bluebell this time has been a negative due to one person. The moment we got there, the lady said: so youve got 10-15 minutes to order as the kitchen is closing - quite abruptly, despite us booking a table online for 8.45pm. Before we had even sat down she asks: do you know what you want for drinks?? As we are closing reminding us again. The whole time we felt rushed, she came across as rude and arrogant, which is a shame as it was a good experience otherwise. Throughout the whole meal she was looking across to see where we have got to with our meal. She was a Romanian lady - I only know as I overheard someone ask her. She either needs to be let go for the sake of the reputation of the bluebell, or be retrained in manners.

Today was our first time eating at the restaurant/pub, we didn't book a table but as it was week day was hoping it wasn't too busy. It wasn't yay. Managed to get a table and the staff was helpful and friendly. The choices for food was pretty good. Normally I only like one or two things off a menu but this time I could have eaten everything. The food came out quick and hot! I had the Gammon which was juicy and delicious the wife had the pork belly that looked so succulent. Portion sizes was spot on. My dessert, the sticky toffee pudding was really nice. I'd go back just for that Overall happy with the food and the service. Price for two people with three drinks two mains and a pudding each came to 55.30 so average price for a meal out for two. We will be going back!

A friend and I (vegan and vegetarian) stopped here when travelling to the North East on a Bank Holiday Sunday. Staff were so accommodating, found us a table even though we had not booked. The chef kindly catered a vegan friendly carvery option for us. The food was excellent. Fantastic customer service. Thank you

Very nice environment and great atmosphere, clean and quiet pub. Okay prices for the beers but quite expensive for the wines. When it comes to food, we tried the chicken and beef burgers. The chicken burger was nice but nothing special, the beef wasn't good though. Very fatty and quite flat taste. Expensive at 15.95. Would return to try a different dish but not the burgers again.
