I think that the store has faltered lately, The cheaper items are getting harder to find or they have too little stock. Whilst the majority of staff are very helpful when you can find one on the shop floor, they seem to be too busy to offer you the assistance you require and will direct you to ask someone in one of the payment booths, and you might be at the other end of the store. (Staffing problem ????) There are quite a number of staff that when you are having a courteous conversation with them, they will state that they cannot wait until it is time for their shift to finish. ( Is there a staff / management concern here) Perhaps a colleague engagement survey would help to improve the general goodwill within the business and also improve customer relations. (Just a thought) One final gripe is the new customer service and Tobacco kiosk causes a long line of customers with often only one person on the Kiosk, perhaps better signage segregating customer service from Tobacco.
