I still remember to this day the first words spoken to me going into Year 6; S.A.Ts. It seems that over a decade later, nothing has changed. Such an intense focus on keeping the school results up at any cost. They also had a big problem with lads having long hair - it seems that this is still an issue as they are now pestering my sibling to tie his hair back like this has any effect on the learning of him or others. Clearly having long hair had such an adverse effect on my own education that I managed to earn a Masters degree from a top university. Focus on what matters and stop fussing over the length of a childs hair. Yes, it may be part of some archaic policy but when the intention of a policy ceases to provide anything meaningful, it is time to review the policy.
