Never wrote a review before.My mother had been traumatized by the death of my father.She really didn't have a clue what day it was couldn't walk ,use toilet or cerrmode it was horrendous then got Iill with pneumonia .Was in the ICU unit at Blackburn ,where I must say ,The staff were Incredible .All the teams were constantly trying to save people's lives.What they do in a day is mind boggling. But after 6 hrs constantly trying to get my mum to take in oxygen .The doctor pulled me to one side ,took me in a small room and explained to me my mum had maybe hrs to live maybe a day ,but just wouldn't last out the wk.After she had made it through the night.I reluctantly started looking at care homes.I visited 4 care homes before I found this one.Evan though it was half an hrs drive from where we lived.As the ones I had looked at were to say the best average.I ventured to look at this one .You really haven't got a clue in this situation.But soon as I walked in.I got a real good feeling .The staff were clean ,tidy polite and really quite happy ,Evan though they people who they were dealing with ,looked really poorly.This is no exaggeration my mum lived for another 18 months ,thanks to all the staff at Highfield.Every single time I saw her ,it was like a gift .Within 2 wks they had her walking aided ,enjoying her food .Loved going out for little trips.Which also helped with walking she enjoyed games they played ,turns and the staff .I truly believe that she couldn't of been anywhere safer happier or had kinder people to help her get her dignity back.Laughing so much it was great.My mum was very ill ian Evan thou there were still terrible times ,that's because my mother was very poorly.I couldn't of wished for better care for her .Please check this place out at least .They do incredible stuff .Thx Guys Top Draw.
