It's clean, friendly, and well maintained. The carvery was excellent. Nothing over cooked or mushy. Fab choice of veg (carrot n swede (I think, didn't check), peas, broccoli, cauliflower cheese), mashed potatoes, boiled potatoes with skin left on, giant homemade made to perfection Yorkshire puds, tasty thick gravy, stuffing. I didn't have the stuffing, but Grandma couldn't help but comment how delicious it was. A selection of 3 meats, you can have all 3! All the correct condiments and mint sauce is an option in as well, because you never know! The meat choice was gammon, beef, and turkey. All 3 were juicy! The venue made me nostalgic of the late 90's style pub carvery from back in my teenage days. Some may say dated, I saw retro/ vintage. Really enjoyed our Sunday tea! We didn't have starters, but we did have dessert. We weren't shown a menu, but we were invited to the cake display and asked to choose. For me, it was missing a Victoria Sponge, lemon drizzle, or carrot cake. The children could not decide with chocolate fudge, biscoff, and other various sumptuous treats on offer. The chocolate fudge was divine according to my 10 year old. I had a trifle, which was a little disappointing as the fruit it contained seemed to be tinned. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. It was enjoyable. I just prefer fresh fruit if it's included in a trifle. My homemade trifle doesn't have fruit in, just some sherry instead. This is just personal preference. For me, that extra star would have been given for a dessert selection that pleased my preferences. This place might be 5 stars for you! No complaints, left happy. Thanks Rose n Bowl! An excellent family meal out
