Mr shalchi was very kind and reassuring all through my cataract procedure. He explained what was happening all through the operation, which made me feel confident and very much at ease. The colours are so bright now and I can see long distance without glasses. Its amazing thank you so much. I just didnt realise how much difference it would make.

Mr Shalchi was very clear and professional from the offset, made me feel at ease and comfortable very quickly seeing the nature of what was needed to be one in my eyes. Which was very important as I'm a little apprehensive about things whenever it comes to the eyes. He clearly knew what was best for me and give me the best advice I needed.

Cataracts are an unwelcome imposition. Alone the prefix cata is negatively connotated: cataclysm, catastrophe, cataplexy, etc. The cataract itself, presenting with increasingly blurry vision, is a harbinger of senescence. However, few aspects of ageing can potentially be so spectacularly reversed as the cataract eye thanks to the range of premium intraocular lenses (IOLs) on the market. The challenge is to tailor the lens to the patient. It is here that Mr Shalchis outstanding diagnostic skills came into play. Communicating to the patient that the tantalisingly close IOL was not to be because of certain underlying issues called for even greater skills! It is a measure of Mr Shalchis many qualities that I readily accepted the diagnosis and opted for a standard lens. Both cataracts were removed in a very short time, with excellent outcomes, considering the limitations. I highly recommend Mr Shalchi, a unique doctor who puts the patient in the spotlight. And thanks to him I now, metaphorically speaking, see cataracts in a more positive light!
